On June 23, 2026, in Freising, the talk “New Insights from Research on Methane Emissions in Ruminants” was hosted by the Professorship of Animal Nutrition and Metabolism at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), led by Prof. Julia Steinhoff-Wagner. This event provided an excellent opportunity for MethTrack project members to highlight current methane mitigation strategies and engage in meaningful discussions with an academic audience.
The seminar was divided into two main sections:
- Project Overview & Fundamentals: In the first session, Prof. Stefania Colombini from the University of Milan introduced the MethTrack project, focusing on its core aims and scientific foundations. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation and discussion on ruminant methane emissions, key mitigation strategies, and emission modeling techniques.
- Latest Research on Feed Additives: In the second part, Dr. Stefan Müetzel from the Bioeconomy Science Institute of New Zealand shed light on current in vitro and in vivo research regarding methane-mitigating feed additives.
The event concluded with a “Meet the Speaker” session, offering a valuable opportunity for fellow researchers and guests to network and share ideas.
